MakerProof

On most of these platforms the platform is not the licensor. The person who uploaded the model is, and they choose per model — which is why “is Cults3D commercial use?” has no single answer, and why the useful thing to know is where to look.

Platforms

Cults3D

Personal use only, unless the model's own licence says otherwise. The default terms specifically rule out selling prints.

Printables

The uploader picks a licence per model, most often a Creative Commons one, and the commercial question turns on which.

MakerWorld

MakerWorld grants no licence itself — the designer picks one from a set the platform defines, and once published it cannot be taken back.

Thingiverse

The uploader attaches a secondary licence to each thing — Thingiverse's own word — and that, not the site, decides whether a print can be sold.

MyMiniFactory

Downloads are non-commercial unless you have an arrangement — and that arrangement can be with the platform or with the designer.

Patreon

The creator grants the licence, not Patreon — and the terms call it revocable, tied to a membership that is still being paid for.

Thangs

Thangs' own subscription does not include the right to sell prints — that comes from an individual designer's membership, and the terms say so outright.

Gumroad

Gumroad sells the file, but the creator sets the licence: its terms say each product is licensed by the creator, through Gumroad, on the creator's own terms.

CGTrader

The seller picks the licence, and CGTrader's default Royalty Free License does not cover selling 3D printed copies: that needs a Custom License on the listing.

Fab

Fab's licence is Epic's Standard License, granted by the item's uploader. It is written for digital projects and says nothing about selling physical prints.

Cubee Hive

Cubee licenses the designs for the designers who made them, and your plan is the licence. It covers you only while the plan is paid.

General information, not legal advice. What you may do depends on the designer's terms, the platform's rules and your local law.
